Hiking Boots are a good accessory for exploration. They grant the ability to wall slide and wall jump when equipped, giving you a much better range of movement for high terrain. They effectively give you a second jump and fall damage immunity when up against a wall. However, once you wall jump, you cannot slide down that wall again, so be careful of that.
You can only wall jump once, however, this only applies to walls in the same direction. If you go against another wall on the opposite side to the first, you can wall jump again. If you're good at wall jumping capably, this is an easy way to get to high places effectively.
