Weather is an RNG decided system that creates weather, currently there are only 3 types of weather and it is likely that there will be more.
The only thing to look out for are Rad Storms as it is the only pattern that can kill you currently.
Rain
Rain is a purely visual weather event. There are 2 kinds: Light Rain and Storms. Light rain produces aesthetic raindrops.
Storms produce more raindrops than light rain, and also come with a chance for lightning to strike, dealing some damage to creatures that are hit.
