Scientific Wear is a fairly good all-round armor set for many situations. Though its myriad of defenses against elemental-type damage is quite good, it's not too easy to find anything that uses said elements, and it provides no armor. One of its more notable traits is its Radiation resistance, which allows you to survive longer in Radiation Storms / Blizzards. Hard to come by, but very cool looking and useful in many situations.
The glasses are debatably part of the armor set despite not having any armor bonuses, considering the set had glasses before.
